Leadership
The Supported Decision-Making Consortium is led by Missouri's DD Network and its three partners: UMKC-IHD, the DD Council, and Mo P&A.
The UMKC Institute for Human Development (IHD) is an applied research and training center for human services. UMKC IHD is the federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) for the state of Missouri.
The Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council is a federally-funded, 23-member, consumer-driven council appointed by the Governor. DD Councils use systems change so people with developmental disabilities can be included in all parts of community life. Systems change is about people working together to change policies, programs, and resources.
Missouri Protection and Advocacy Services (Mo P&A) is a non-profit, public interest law firm. Mo P&A was established in 1977 to address public outcry over the abuse and neglect of people with disabilities living in institutions. Mo P&A is the federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) System for Missouri. P&A Systems protect the rights of people with disabilities through legal-based advocacy.
